Unique Experiences
Some people have unique experiences everyday. Others only have them once a year. I had a very special unique experience the other day. It was one of those types of experiences that you've seen somewhere before and think that it'll never happen to you. Mine happened on Saturday during our soccer game in Byron. I had a "run in" with one of the goal posts as I almost scored a goal on a cross in. I had seen the same play before on YouTube somewhere about a year earlier. At that point I had laughed hysterically at the person to whom it occurred. However, after experiencing the exact same type of accident and feeling the same type of pain, I feel very guilty for laughing at him. Last night I watched the clip on YouTube again with some friends, but with a different perspective this time. When it came to the "pole split," all my friends laughed like crazy. I was reminded of my pain and felt a lot of empathy for that soccer player. I am glad now that I had that experience, however uncomfortable it may have been at the time. Not many people can honestly say that they have had such an experience (as a complete accident nonetheless), so I guess I now have some sort of bragging right. (If you want to see the video just go to YouTube and search for "soccer pole crotch hit")
